I was trying to go the distance with the Mountain Athlete workout but ran out of time, and steam. The original workout is on their webpage. It states that the "for time" section should take 20-30 minutes. I took 25:01 for 5 rounds; as rx'd was 10! And then there was more! Definitely going to stick with mountain athlete until after our climb as todays workout revealed some muscle imbalances that I have and need to work on (TGU in the left shoulder were rough!) Also, it shows that I'm lacking the "go long" stamina that I need to develop for our long days in the mountains. I'd be interested in having you guys do alternate workouts. I know Alan is running a lot to get ready for a trail race and Paul seems to be kicking tail in Crossfit and it would be interesting to compare our preparedness for the mountains. Any takers?
The mountain athlete schedule is M-W-F with T-Th (and usually one weekend day) being "sport specific" i.e. hiking up hill with a heavy pack, climbing, running, etc.
Obviously Crossfit is 3:1. Alan, what is your training schedule? Feel free to edit the WOD post so that the variations show up.
