Crossfit: The sport of sport. Functional Fitness. A kick in the backside of traditional training (and the participants). This is a record of our exploits. . .
5rds: 9PU, 15 20# med ball cleans, 50 single unders (sub for 21 double unders)

Went to Crossfit SoCos today. Tiny garage gym with good turnout: 6 athletes at 5:30 AM. I came in last! The elevation was killing me, and I should have waited longer after breakfast
16:07 a lot further off my last time of 10 min something. I actually did this one outside and the outside dirt track is a little farther than 400 m when you count the run up to the pull up bar on the hill. Oh well...felt good and winded when finished.
Per the handy-dandy topo, I'm at 6000'. It's actually a bit lower than I was in Afghanistan, but I lost all my acclimation after a month in FL.
Haven't moved here yet; I'm househunting. I'll move here permanently after our Cascades trip.
I checked out work today, and it's even more of a boondoggle than I thought it would be. For the first year, class is 3 days per week. I'm supposed to get in 400 "contact hours" during the rest of the time (about 8 per week). This can be a broad variety of things ranging from teaching university classes to mentoring cadets to teaching sunday school. My sponsor is getting some of his in by helping out with his son's Cub Scout pack.
So, that's right, I can be a venture crew adviser and it will be part of my job.
The only way this job could be better is if I had my own solid-gold toilet seat.
haha wow that sounds great. good for you! :) sorry about the elevation stab...i guess the elevation is getting to me here! :~ Well I am excited for the Cascades trip!
