WOD 8.9.09

Main Page WOD:

"Tabata Something Else"

Complete 32 intervals of 20 seconds of work followed by ten seconds of rest where the first 8 intervals are pull-ups, the second 8 are push-ups, the third 8 intervals are sit-ups, and finally, the last 8 intervals are squats. There is no rest between exercises.

Post total reps from all 32 intervals to comments.

Attempted west ridge of Pacific Peak today. Did the initial class 1/2 section in running shoes and then transitioned to my mountaineering boots with new way-cool orthotics to protect my poor wide feet.

Unfortunately, the orthotics that felt so good in the doctor's office felt like a medieval torture device when I started climbing the 3rd class section. So, I returned home swearing to set my boots and the orthotics on fire.

Then, a miracle occurred. I went to Wilderness Sports and they had a set of La Sportiva Trango S Evo GTX on consignment. I had tried on many La Sportiva boots in the past, but I thought I'd give them a try. Miraculously, they fit extremely well! I'll try them out on Pacific tomorrow. If they work well, then I can be just like Rob (and Jim, and Mike, and Paul Weatherall...) with the cool shoes. I'll let you know how it goes.
