So this is a delayed response but, I really enjoyed reading the comments from the 10K WOD the other day. So many people complain about running. I read the Humbled Response...that guy hit it about on the nail. Do we forget the phrase 'reward the generalist, punish the specialist?' By NOT running, we are becoming specialists. Running allows us to be good at a damn variety of things and that makes me proud. I'd rather have average times on my WODs and be able to run a 10k then have insane fast times.
My charge to you 2: start doing the runs. I know Rob you tried and that Paul, it is difficult for your size but do a run/walk scenario. It truly does get easier the more you practice it. I run sometimes just for fun after a WOD b/c it's good for me and makes me better.
I am soooo sore. It's been a good run of workouts over the last few days. I totally agree with Alan, running is easy the more you do it. Personally, time limitations are my limitation. I occasionally throw in a run on my off days. It's a piece of cake for me to run 5k but the longer runs hurt a little. The 10K day I just fizzled out on my own, not sure why other than when I turned around after a mile and a half, it was almost all downhill!! I wish I could map that, of wait, it can. . . http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2977541 I also just uploaded the terrain profile to the 10k day. Anyhow, enough babbling. Do I need to run more, yes. But I also need to lift more, do more gymnastics including getting a handstand, a muscle up, etc, and in general become more "Crossfit." Consistency before intensity has become my new mantra. I'm intentionally slowing down a little to perform more consistent technique and in general trying to be more consistent with doing the workouts.
Seriously, it's something I've been working on off and on for years. I'm doing well on all the 400s and 800s, but the 5K and 10K runs are coming on days I'm in the mountains (like all last week). I hope to start working in CFE in the next few weeks.

Rob. Good follow up there. I like where you are headed if I may add an opinion. Solid mantra.
Running bad.

Keep up the work Paul. I don't blame you for getting out man. It's a beautiful time of year and the mountains call to us...
Keep working at it! :)
